Aboriginal Capital CorporationsABORIGINAL CAPITAL CORPORATIONS (ACCS) are Aboriginal-owned and controlled business lending organizations. A listing of the ACCs throughout Canada can be found below. The ACCs are important financing and advisory sources for Aboriginal business development.They provide business services and support to Canadian status and non-status indians, Inuit and Métis individuals, associations, partnerships or other legal entities which are wholly or partly owned or controlled by Aboriginal people, on or off reserve. A typical capital corporation has a revolving-loan capital fund from which it offers secured term loans. Variation among the corporations allows them to be sensitive to the needs of local and regional market conditions. Services may vary, but capital corporations generally offer loan guarantees, operating loans, and technical and advisory services. A goal for ACCs is to access business resources and increasingly lever capital from commercial sources, then continue to see it invested and re-invested in Native communities.
